Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior 3D Substation Physical Designer in the Atlanta area. You will develop 3D models and generate supporting drawings (General Arrangement, Equipment Plans, Sections, Cable Schedules) using Inventor, AutoCAD, P4A, SDS, and Vault Pro.

Responsibilities include integrating vendor data, visualizing layouts per IEEE standards, and performing client walkdowns at substations. The role requires strong CAD standards adherence and 10+ years in 3D substation design.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or higher
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent
• 5+ years 3D drafting coursework/experience
• 10+ years in 3D substation models and physical design
• Proficient with 3D using AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, Vault Pro and SDS
• Able to visualize in 3D and follow CAD standards

Responsibilities

• Produce a 3D Model for substation design packages
• Create General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, Sections and Cable Schedules
• Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables
• Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities
• Work in a hybrid schedule with in-office days in Peachtree Corners, GA
