Job summary

CoStar Group’s Matterport division seeks a Senior Machine Learning R&D Engineer to push the boundaries of neural reconstruction and generative systems for 3D spaces. You will work at the intersection of neural rendering, novel view synthesis, and large‑scale model training on Matterport’s proprietary data.

This hands‑on research role partners with researchers, platform engineers, and product teams to translate frontier ideas into production‑ready capabilities used across 170+ countries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Strong background in machine learning research and development.
• Experience with CV, 3D data processing, and generative modeling.
• Proficiency in PyTorch and Python.
• Knowledge of deep learning architectures and evaluation techniques.
• Experience with data manipulation libraries.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and train large-scale models for 3D reconstruction and scene completion.
• Advance neural rendering techniques and novel view synthesis for real spaces.
• Develop diffusion and generative approaches to complete occluded regions.
• Design scalable training and inference pipelines for multi-view data.
• Translate prototypes into production-ready systems with engineers.
• Define evaluation methodologies and benchmarks for quality.
• Stay updated on 3D vision and generative modeling advances.
• Collaborate with product teams to scope and deliver features.
• Contribute to architectural designs and roadmap for reconstruction models.
• Contribute to IP through patents and publications.
