Job summary

Matterport is seeking a Senior Machine Learning R&D Engineer to advance 3D reconstruction and generative scene completion for digital twins. You will research and build large-scale models, focusing on neural rendering, novel view synthesis, and diffusion-based generation across indoor and outdoor spaces.

You will collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate research into production-ready pipelines, evaluate models with rigorous benchmarks, and contribute to Matterport's architectural

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with strong research track record.
• Experience in machine learning research and development, focusing on CV, 3D data, neural rendering, or generative modeling.
• Proficiency in PyTorch and Python; solid ML fundamentals and evaluation methods.
• Experience with data manipulation libraries (NumPy, Pandas).
• Independent researcher with ability to propose and implement novel solutions.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and train large-scale models for 3D reconstruction and scene completion.
• Advance neural rendering and novel view synthesis for indoor/outdoor spaces.
• Develop generative approaches (diffusion, 3D generation) for occluded regions and unseen views.
• Build scalable training/inference pipelines for 3D data including images, video, point clouds, and meshes.
• Translate research prototypes into production-ready systems with engineering teams.
