Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Process Engineer to design and deliver complex semiconductor and advanced technology facilities, focusing on cleanrooms, process chemical systems, and fab infrastructure. You will develop safe, reliable piping and chemical distribution solutions, collaborate with project managers, vendors, and contractors, and support design reviews through construction and startup phases.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3–6 years in process engineering, preferably design-build or EPC.
  • Experience with semiconductor or cleanroom facilities.
  • Knowledge of ultrapure water, gas/chemical distribution, wastewater systems.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations and develop process design docs.
  • Familiarity with PFDs and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop process chemical and gas-related design concepts for semiconductor facilities, including cleanroom support systems, bulk chemical delivery, waste collection, and utility interfaces.
  • Perform calculations, equipment sizing, pressure drop analyses, flow evaluations, and material compatibility reviews.
  • Prepare and review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, line sizing studies, and narrative descriptions that define system intent.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, controls, and fire-protection teams to resolve interfaces and constraints.
  • Ensure designs align with codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and design reviews to confirm scope and budget.
  • Support vendor and equipment integration by reviewing datasheets, submittals, and connection details.
  • Apply QA/QC procedures to engineering deliverables and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Conduct site walks, field verifications, and turnover planning.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and correspondence for coordination and client communication.
  • Identify constructability, safety, operability, and maintainability concerns early and propose solutions.
  • Mentor junior staff by sharing knowledge and reviewing work products.
