Job summary

Samsung Electronics America is seeking an Engineer for CMP Engineering to maintain production flow and drive continuous improvement on CMP tools. You will analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with engineers to uphold safety and quality standards.

Role requires a mechanical engineering background and hands-on experience with semiconductor equipment, with a focus on LEAN methods and cross-shift knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Root Cause analysis required and data-driven decision making.
• Experience reviewing equipment designs and operation.
• Troubleshoot semiconductor equipment during final testing using flow controllers and RF, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic knowledge.
• Diagnose chamber vacuum failures by inspecting valves, leaks, chamber seals, and pumps.
• Mentor others on semiconductor fundamentals and AMAT equipment operation.
• Train others on equipment installation, testing, and troubleshooting best practices.
• Document fixes and failing parts to support knowledge transfer across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production flow through CMP tools during the shift, with safety and quality focus.
• Perform data analysis and make informed decisions to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with process/equipment engineers and technicians to update SOPs and OCAPs.
• Lead LEAN-driven projects to streamline existing practices and eliminate waste.
• Provide shift support for abnormal events and ensure resources align with factory priorities.
