Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking an Engineer for CMP Engineering to maintain production flow through CMP tools on the assigned shift, troubleshoot tool issues, and drive data-driven decisions.

You will support safety, quality, and continuous improvement while coordinating with technicians and engineers to resolve equipment events. The role requires root cause analysis, SOP/OCAP updates, and mentoring others on semiconductor fundamentals and AMAT equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 6 months of experience with root cause analysis and equipment troubleshooting.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment and final testing processes.
• Ability to mentor others on semiconductor fundamentals and equipment operation.
• Knowledge of SOPs and OCAPs; ability to document fixes and support knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain flow of production through CMP tools during the assigned shift.
• Troubleshoot basic tool issues and make data-driven decisions.
• Respond to qualification failures using existing procedures and propose solutions.
• Conduct change point monitoring, data collection, and daily trend reviews.
• Provide shift support for abnormal events and drive LEAN-based improvements.
