Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineer to join a world-class team focused on establishing and maintaining leading-edge process/equipment. The role emphasizes yield enhancement, complex problem solving, and implementing solutions in a fast-paced FAB environment.

You will monitor fabrication processes, qualify new tools, coordinate qualifications, analyze data with software, and drive process improvements while adhering to SOPs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or CS (3.0 GPA for new grads).
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
• Understanding of statistical methods and Change Point Management.
• Knowledge of Lean, TPS, or 5S and structured problem solving (8D/7-step).
• Experience with data analysis tools (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab).
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment or process failures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication processes, respond to inline issues and dispositions.
• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinate process qualifications and equipment downtime with manufacturing/engineering.
• Use software to analyze data, identify trends, and inform decisions.
• Adjust parameters when limits are exceeded and monitor during maintenance.
• Execute in-line changes to process or equipment (CPM).
• Present technical information within the department.
• Regularly revise SOPs and develop improved processes to increase capability.
