Job summary

TEN (Transportation Equipment Network) in Dayton, OH is seeking a Semi-Trailer Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of trailers, including dry vans and reefers. The role requires hands-on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and structural work, with DOT compliance a priority.

You will perform preventive maintenance, service brakes, suspensions, frames, and wheel-end components, use diagnostic tools, document repairs, and help keep a large fleet running safely.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Trailer Technician, Trailer Mechanic, Diesel Technician, Fleet Technician, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience in trailer repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of brake systems, suspension systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and DOT requirements.
• Ability to use shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding/fabrication tools.
• Ability to lift, move, and work with heavy equipment and trailer components.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to a safe work environment and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues on trailers.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and routine trailer servicing.
• Repair or replace brake systems, suspensions, axles, landing gear, and wheel-end components.
• Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems, wiring, and electrical components.
• Complete frame, body, and structural repairs, including welding and fabrication.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with standards.
• Use diagnostic tools and manuals to identify issues.
• Document all repairs and maintain accurate work orders.
