Job summary

Legacy Staffing is seeking a skilled Semi Trailer Mechanic (Service Technician) in Bakersfield, CA to repair, maintain, and service semi-trailers ensuring safe operation.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with heavy-duty equipment, strong mechanical troubleshooting, and the ability to diagnose issues across trailer systems; a high school diploma or GED is required, with welding/fabrication skills preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• Experience working with semi-trailers or heavy-duty equipment.
• Knowledge of air brake systems and trailer components.
• Welding and fabrication skills preferred.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools and repair equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair and replace trailer components, including: Brake systems (air brakes, ABS), Suspension systems, Axles and wheel bearings, Lighting and wiring systems, Landing gear and coupling systems
• Perform structural repairs on trailer frames and panels, including welding and fabrication
• Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections
• Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
