Job summary

Pace Transportation is seeking a skilled Trailer Technician/Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial trailers in accordance with safety standards. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, brake and suspension work, welding, electrical troubleshooting, and component repairs to ensure reliable service.

You will document repairs, communicate findings to leadership, and work with a team of technicians to meet productivity and quality goals in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in automotive or diesel is a plus.
• ASE or OEM certifications preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of trailer systems and repair procedures.
• Ability to safely perform brake, suspension, hub, wheel end, and structural repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and trailer repairs
• Diagnose mechanical, structural, electrical, suspension, and brake system issues
• Repair and replace trailer components (brakes, hubs, bearings, suspension, air & lighting systems)
• Welding and fabrication repairs as needed
• Complete repair orders, inspection forms, and documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and safety compliance
