Job summary

Balfor Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND/SEMH school in Tipton from September 2026. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils aged 11-19, helping manage SEMH and SEND needs, behaviours and learning barriers within a dedicated education team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEMH/SEND pupils in education settings.
• Ability to adapt resources and activities for individual needs.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils aged 11-19.
• Support SEMH and SEND needs and manage emotions.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff.
• Adapt lessons and resources to meet needs.
• Contribute to IEPs, BSPs and risk assessments.
• Promote calm, safe and supportive learning environments.
