Job summary

First Steps Together is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEN and SEMH across levels 2, 3 and HLTA. You will help create an inclusive, supportive learning environment, delivering targeted support and liaising with teachers to meet EHCP targets.

Roles offer a clear progression pathway, with competitive salary (£22,800–£26,800 actual depending on role, qualifications and experience) and term-time pattern. A positive, resilient, and committed approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, including SEN/SEMH needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships and support personalised learning.
• Strong safeguarding awareness and commitment to welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support learning through one-to-one and small group interventions.
• Assist teachers in adapting lessons to individual needs and EHCP targets.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence, and emotional regulation.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and aspirational school culture.
