Job summary

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state (or by comity within 90 days)
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing exposure
• Proven ability to bring in work or have a credible plan to do so in this market
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms and convert opportunities into signed work
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects; review field/lab data, resolve test issues, seal reports/letters
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with laboratory on testing schedules
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in the market
