Job summary

DPR Construction seeks a capable SPW (Self-Perform Work) project engineer to support successful delivery of SPW construction projects in Durham, NC. You will collaborate with SPW crews, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure scope requirements, schedules, and quality standards are met.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 2–4 years of construction experience, and OSHA 30 certification (or completion within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–4 years of experience in construction engineering, project engineering, or a related field.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred; OSHA 30 program completion within 6 months of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in reviewing contract drawings, specifications, and submittals for SPW scopes, ensuring technical accuracy.
• Collaborates with SPW project managers, superintendents, and project teams to resolve standard technical questions.
• Monitors SPW activity schedules and budgets, tracks labor productivity, and reports variances for corrective actions.
• Supports implementation of SPW quality assurance and safety protocols across all phases.
• Prepares and maintains SPW documentation including daily crew reports, logs and field changes.
• Identifies opportunities for incremental SPW process improvements and contributes to leading practices.
