Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for bagging
• Check bottom of cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order
• Follow correct bagging procedures for bag types
• Scan customers' order and handle payments per standard practice
• Avoid personal conversations with other associates when customers are present
• Follow procedures for cash handling, checks, coupons, gift cards, and vouchers
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction
• Maintain accurate cash control
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance as needed to service customers
• Check prices quickly and accurately
• Wear Food Lion uniform with name badge; keep neat appearance
• Retrieve shopping carts and keep front end neat
• Report any register malfunction to management
• Ensure MVP savings center KIOSK is stocked and functioning
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies and standard practices
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions
• Notify QA of cleaning or maintenance needs
• Complete CBT and training courses
• Perform all other duties as assigned
