Job summary

Food Lionstore 01482 Front End is seeking a Customer Service Associate in Raleigh. You’ll provide fast, friendly service, greet customers by name when possible, and assist with Self-checkout using the hand scanner to ensure a quick, accurate checkout.

You will monitor SCOs, remind customers of bagging and item placement, and help with payments. This role requires wearing the Food Lion uniform and maintaining store standards.

Qualifications

• Provide fast, easy and friendly service to customers.
• Greet customers by name when possible.
• Assist customers with Self-checkout and explain hand scanner usage.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and SCO notifications.
• Maintain a neat self-checkout area and wear the Food Lion uniform.
• Follow Front End Standard Practices and company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and uses their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkout properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including scanning of all items and accurate scanning.
• Remind customers of items located on the bottom of the cart or under baby seats prior to completing the transaction.
• When needed, assist in scanning the customer's order and provide instructions on payment.
• Complete self-checkout voids, age-restricted item verifications and other SCO functions.
• Avoid personal conversations with other associates when customers are present.
• Follow procedures in handling acceptance and payment processing at self-checkout for checks and coupons.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers per standards.
• Engage self-checkout customers needing assistance.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform, neat appearance and dress code.
• Collect and return shopping carts from the self-checkout area.
• Ensure the self-checkout area is neat and clean.
• Report any self-checkout issues to the Customer Service Manager or MOD.
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and standard practices.
• Ability to perform troubleshooting steps on self-checkout as needed.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause accidents.
• Notify QA of any cleaning issues or maintenance required on front end.
• Successfully complete CBT and training aid courses.
• Ensure self-checkouts are supplied with proper bags.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
