Job summary

Food Lion in Wilson, NC is seeking a Front End Associate to provide fast, friendly service at the registers and self-checkout stations, greeting customers by name when possible and guiding them through checkout.

You will maintain a neat checkout area, handle age-verifications as required, assist customers with self-checkout, and follow all Food Lion policies, safety guidelines and dress code to ensure a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and uses their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item.
