Job summary

Food Lion in Wilson, NC is seeking a Self-Checkout Ambassador to deliver fast, friendly service at the Front End. You will greet customers, assist with self-checkouts, and help maintain a neat, efficient checkout area while following Food Lion standards.

This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability and clear communication; you will support the Customer Service Manager and demonstrate professionalism while helping customers through the self-checkout process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name when possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including scanning items accurately.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers per standards.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with name badge and maintain a neat appearance.
• Collect and return shopping carts from the self-checkout area and keep the area clean.
