Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Front End Associate in Durham, NC to provide fast, friendly service and uphold customer service standards at the front end. You will assist customers with self-checkout, greet shoppers by name, and help ensure accurate transactions while maintaining a neat, customer-friendly front end.

Responsibilities include monitoring self-checkout stations, resolving issues, and following all store policies.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item.
• Remind customers of items located on the bottom of the cart or items under baby seats prior to them completing the transaction.
• When needed, assist in scanning the customer's order and provide instructions on payment.
• Complete self-checkout voids, age restricted item verifications and any other SCO assist function in accordance with Front End Standard Practice.
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and standard practices.
• Ability to perform troubleshooting steps on self-checkout as needed.
