Food Lion is hiring at its New Bern, NC location for a Front End/Self-Checkout Associate. You will provide fast, friendly service, assist customers with self-checkout, and help maintain a neat and welcoming front-end area.

The role emphasizes courteous interaction, efficient transactions, and adherence to Food Lion standards. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication, and the ability to learn multiple tasks.

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item.
• Remind customers of items located on the bottom of the cart or items under baby seats prior to them completing the transaction.
