You will serve as a technical resource for project teams, providing recommendations on liquefaction, lateral spreading, seismic settlement, and slope stability for transportation and utility projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required; master's preferred.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• 3–5 years of earthquake engineering experience in the Pacific Northwest.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and geotechnical software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Based in Tumwater office; remote work may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning field and laboratory soil characterizations.
• Develop static and dynamic soil properties and evaluate variability.
• Complete empirical and numerical liquefaction analyses.
• Evaluate cost-effective foundation or ground improvement options based on analyses.
• Support design of ground improvement and deep foundations.
