• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Based in Tumwater office; remote work may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning field and laboratory soil characterizations.
• Develop static and dynamic soil properties and evaluate variability.
• Complete empirical and numerical liquefaction analyses.
• Evaluate cost-effective foundation or ground improvement options based on analyses.
• Support design of ground improvement and deep foundations.

We’re hiring a geotechnical engineer with earthquake engineering experience in the Pacific Northwest. This professional will serve as a technical resource for our project teams, providing recommendations for projects involving liquefaction, lateral spreading, seismic settlement, and slope stability for transportation and utility projects.

What you bring

• Abachelor’s degree in civil engineering, master’s degree preferred.
• Professional engineering license preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with earthquake engineering in the Pacific Northwest, preferably 3 to 5 years' experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suiteand geotechnical engineering software.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• The ability to workinour Tumwater office (remote work may be considered).
