Job summary

Geotechnical Engineer with Seismic Experience in the PNW

Sage Geotechnical is a geotechnical engineering firm in Tumwater, Washington. We are a small firm dedicated to serving our long‑term clients. We pride ourselves on our responsiveness, technical expertise, and determination not to make big problems out of small ones.

What you bring
  • Abachelor’s degree in civil engineering, master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional engineering license preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with earthquake engineering in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and various geotechnical engineering software.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to work in our Tumwater office (remote work may be considered)
What you’ll do
  • Assist with planning field and laboratory soil characterizations.
  • Develop static and dynamic soil properties and evaluate variability.
  • Complete empirical and numerical liquefaction and lateral spreading analyses.
  • Use the results of analyses to evaluate cost‑effective foundation or ground improvement options.
  • Support design of ground improvement and deep foundations.
