Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Manufacturing Technician I to work at a premier manufacturing client in Filer, ID. The role offers a first shift from 6 am to 2 pm with potential overtime and weekends, and pay between $19 and $20 per hour.

You will gain hands-on experience in environmental control systems, plant propagation, and related operations, while building skills in greenhouse and lab settings. This position provides opportunities to learn, collaborate, and contribute to innovative projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience (entry level).
• Interest in greenhouse operations, plant propagation, and irrigation.
• Strong organizational, observational, and communication skills.
• Willing to receive Ag Worker Training and Pesticide Handler Training.
• Capable of weekend/holiday work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate greenhouse environmental control systems and program irrigation.
• Prefill pots/trays for propagation using automated equipment.
• Support greenhouse maintenance and data collection.
• Perform routine checks on greenhouse chambers, equipment, and lighting.
• Drive work trucks between sites to transport plant material and supplies.
• Attend meetings and communicate updates promptly.
• Follow sanitation, safety protocols, and SOPs.

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $19.00–$20.00 per hour

What’s a typical day?

• Learning to operate greenhouse environmental control systems, program irrigation, and evaluate alarms.
• Prefilling pots/trays for propagation using automated equipment and supporting greenhouse maintenance and organization.
• Assisting with research setup and takedown, preparing soil mixes, installing irrigation, and collaborating on data collection.
• Performing routine checks and troubleshooting on greenhouse chambers, equipment, and lighting.
• Driving work trucks between sites to transport plant material and supplies.
• Attending group and project meetings, and communicating updates or issues promptly.
• Following good sanitation practices, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.

• Prioritize tasks efficiently and pay high attention to detail.
