Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead and deliver sediment remediation projects for federal and public sector clients. The role emphasizes independent work and team leadership on sites requiring regulatory compliance and technical rigor.

The candidate should have a PE license, a Civil/Environmental/C Chemical engineering background, and about 7 years of related experience, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering required.
• PE license required.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency contingent on duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for riverine, coastal and port sites.
• Understand principles of sediment transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling and remedial action.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Act as task manager on sediment sites, communicating technical strategy to client and SME teams.
• Have in-depth knowledge of CERCLA, GLLA and related regulatory steps for sediment sites.
• Liaise with clients, public, and outside consultants to communicate complex evaluations.
• Lead staff in preparing/ reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
