Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead designs for riverine, coastal, riparian, and port settings, partnering with Federal and Public sector clients. The role emphasizes independent work and team leadership with CERCLA/regulatory expertise.

Responsibilities include evaluating remediation technologies, data analysis, client coordination, and guiding teams to technically sound, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering; PE license; 7 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise evaluating feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, and port sites.
  • Understand contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches and remedial design.
  • Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
  • Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites and communicate strategy to clients and SMEs.
  • Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information for regulatory compliance.
