Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for federal and public-sector clients. You will evaluate remediation technologies, design sediment remediation solutions, supervise staff, and coordinate with clients and regulators.

Travel up to 10% may be required; a PE license and a degree in Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering are preferred. Experience with CERCLA and related regulatory processes is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering; PE license preferred.
  • 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.
  • Experience leading teams on sediment remediation projects and familiarity with regulatory processes (CERCLA, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and designing solutions for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites.
  • Understand principles of sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial design/construction.
  • Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
  • Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites, communicating strategy to clients and SMEs.
  • Lead others in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
