Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for federal and public sector clients. Candidates should have proven ability to manage teams of engineers and scientists on sediment remediation projects across riverine, coastal and port settings.

The role requires deep knowledge of CERCLA, regulatory processes, and experience communicating complex technical assessments to non-experts. Travel up to 10% and domestic/international exposure may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
• 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for various settings.
• Understand sediment transport and remedial action design concepts.
• Support mathematical evaluations of environmental data.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites and communicate technical strategies to clients and SME colleagues.
• Liaise with clients and outside consultants; communicate complex evaluations to non-specialists.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
