Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead and contribute on sediment remediation projects for federal and public sector clients.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, a PE license, and about 7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required, with travel up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.
  • 7 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expertise in evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and preparing sediment remediation designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and/or port site settings involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Understanding the scientific and engineering principles of sediment and contaminant transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring technologies, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial action design, and/or remedial action construction.
  • Providing support of mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
  • Serving as CDM Smith’s task manager on various components of complicated sediments sites, communicating a technical strategy to the client.
  • Possessing an in-depth expertise in the CERCLA, GLLA, and/or other regulatory program steps at contaminated sediment sites.
  • Serving as a technical liaison with the client and outside consultants, including communicating complicated technical evaluations to non-subject matter experts.
  • Leading other staff in preparing/reviewing/scrutinizing technical information to ensure compliance with regulations and policy.
