Job summary

CDM Smith in Chicago, IL is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for Federal and Public clients. You will guide sediment remediation designs, evaluate technologies, and coordinate teams across disciplines to deliver technically sound solutions.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, a civil/environmental/chemical engineering background, and at least seven years of related experience, with willingness to travel domestically or internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Providing expertise in evaluating sediment remediation technologies and preparing designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and/or port sites.
• Understanding principles of sediment transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring technologies, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial action design/construction.
• Providing support of mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serving as project task manager, communicating technical strategy to clients and coordinating with subject matter experts.
• Possessing expertise in CERCLA, GLLA, and other regulatory steps for contaminated sediment sites.
• Serving as a technical liaison with client, public, and outside consultants.
• Leading staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
