Job summary

Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) seeks a Security Technology Specialist to ensure stability and security of security technology systems across the Minnesota DOC and partner agencies. The role involves hardware upgrades, system reviews, and day-to-day support within enterprise environments.

You will work on-site at 1450 Energy Park Drive, St. Paul, with up to 50% telework eligibility and travel. A valid driver’s license is required for occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with personal computers, servers, and LANs.
• Experience with computer hardware, operating systems, networking, databases, data communications, and video management systems.
• Access control systems and perimeter protection systems experience.
• Working knowledge of computer programming.
• Strong communication and customer-focused problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences.
• Education in IT may substitute for experience (master's for 18 months, bachelor’s for 1 year, associate’s for 6 months).

Responsibilities

• Provide tier two support for facility information systems supporting DOC networks and partner agencies.
• Support security technology systems, hardware upgrades, and life-cycle reviews.
• Coordinate hardware implementations and day-to-day security technology support.
• Collaborate with MNIT DOC Security Tech Support and Enterprise Services to meet operational goals.
