Job summary

Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) seeks a Security Operational Analyst in St. Paul to protect identity systems and manage IAM programs. The role emphasizes day-to-day security, authentication controls, and identity‑based threats, with a mix of on‑site work and limited telework.

You will analyze processes, build tools, and collaborate across teams to meet evolving security needs. The successful candidate will apply advanced technical skills in system analysis, architecture decisions, and testing

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years IT-related experience in systems analysis, IAM, cybersecurity, or IT service management.
• Experience with IAM security controls including authentication, MFA, access management, and identity lifecycle processes.
• Ability to analyze security data to identify anomalies, trends and risks.
• Experience gathering requirements, facilitating workshops, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong communication and customer‑focused problem solving to improve user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyze IAM processes, authentication and authorization controls daily.
• Ensure security, availability and integrity of identity types within MNIT ESO.
• Develop system configurations and architecture decisions and build companion technologies like data lakes and scripting.
• Collaborate with teams to test and validate new requirements and improve processes.
