Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Security Technician to troubleshoot and service intrusion, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from multiple manufacturers. You will communicate with customers, assess needs, and deliver repair plans to restore full functionality and efficiency.

The role emphasizes delivering high-level service, inspecting systems, and providing written reports and timely solutions to improve building performance and security.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in low-voltage or security industry.
• Excellent knowledge of major security platforms including access control, CCTV, burglary and fire alarms.
• Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks.
• Well versed in access controls, CCTV, burglary and fire alarms in commercial applications.

Responsibilities

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust equipment, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
• Performs repair and/or inspections of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, Access Control systems and fire alarms.
• Assists fellow service technicians with system repairs and completes minor repairs including battery replacement.
• Tests operation of system to the customer monitoring center to properly establish service connectivity.
• Complete all forms accurately and customer paperwork as required.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently and upsell where appropriate.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
