Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is hiring a Security Service Technician to service, troubleshoot, and maintain intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV and other low-voltage systems. The role demands independent work and adherence to codes, with travel to various job sites as required.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in fire and life safety, a C6/L6 license, and a clean driving record, capable of reading blueprints and technical documents with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry.
• C6 or L6 License required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems.
• Diagnose issues and complete corrective actions promptly.
• Test and verify proper system functionality per codes and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security systems.
• Read blueprints and system drawings; use hand tools and testing equipment.
• Complete service documentation and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate with customers, team members, and supervisors about progress and status.
• Adhere to safety procedures and site requirements; travel to job sites as needed.
