Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Tech Specialist 1 (Helpdesk Technician) in Tysons, VA to support Electronic Security Systems and related IT concerns. You will work with access control, video management, and security infrastructure to keep systems reliable in federal, local, and commercial environments.

Responsibilities include Tier 1-2 support, troubleshooting badge access, cameras, and VMS connectivity; documenting actions; and coordinating with security operations and facilities to ensure uptime.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a High School Diploma or 4+ years with an Associate's.
• Requires reliable attendance on customer site during work hours.
• 6 years of experience in helpdesk, technical support, or security systems support.
• Knowledge of access control systems (e.g., LenelS2, Genetec, AMAG, Brivo, HID).
• Experience with video management systems (e.g., Milestone, Avigilon, Genetec Security Center, ExacqVision).
• Understanding of basic networking concepts (IP addressing, PoE, switches, VLANs).

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1-2 technical support for ESS platforms (access control, video management, intrusion detection).
• Troubleshoot badge access failures, door controller errors, camera outages, and VMS connectivity problems.
• Monitor system health dashboards and elevate issues as needed.
• Document all support activities in the ticketing system.
• Coordinate with security operations, facilities, and IT teams to ensure uptime.
