Job summary

M.C. Dean in Tysons, VA is seeking a Tech Specialist 2 to provide Tier 1-2 technical support for Security and Electronic Systems platforms, including access control, video management, intrusion detection, and related security hardware.

You will troubleshoot badge access failures, camera outages, and VMS connectivity, while documenting resolutions in our ticketing system. This role requires US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Qualifications

• Clearance/Citizen type required, including ability to obtain Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1-2 technical support for ESS platforms including access control, video management, and intrusion detection.
• Troubleshoot badge access failures, door controller errors, camera outages, VMS connectivity, and credential provisioning.
• Monitor system health dashboards and alerts to identify and escalate failures or performance issues.
• Assist with user account creation, badge activation, permissions changes, and access level assignments.
• Support field technicians with remote diagnostics, log reviews, and configuration assistance.
• Document all support activities, resolutions, and system changes in the ticketing system.
• Coordinate with security operations, facilities, and IT teams to ensure uptime and proper incident response.
• Maintain knowledge of ESS hardware components (readers, panels, controllers, cameras, NVRs) and software platforms.
• Assist with routine maintenance tasks, firmware updates, and configuration backups.
• Contribute to SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
