Job summary

The San Antonio Public Library seeks a Supervisor to coordinate the activities of assigned security staff, including contract guards, and exercise direct supervision over the team.

Under general direction, you will develop operating procedures, assign work, prepare reports on incidents, handle resident complaints, and support hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years law enforcement or security experience, including two (2) years supervisory experience.
• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
• Must be CPR certified or become certified within one year of appointment.

Job description

Work Hours

The work schedule will vary to include evenings, overnights, and weekends based on business needs of the department

• Prior Dispatch and Incident Report Writing experience.
• Facility and Event Security experience.

Applicant Information

• Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
