Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist in Tupelo, MS to help keep guests and team members safe while delivering a positive shopping experience. You will greet guests, assist with needs, and contribute to loss prevention through vigilant observation and documentation.

The role requires at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. You will use Target's video surveillance system and collaborate with store leadership and safety

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments: greet guests and assist them to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience; end every guest interaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support peers and maintain a positive and respectful attitude; adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
• Promote a physical security culture by maintaining safe standards storewide and across exterior property; respond to and document security incidents timely.
• Leverage de-escalation tactics and resources when responding to security incidents across the store.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support in line with AP policies.
• Prevent theft and loss at the front of store by performing merchandise receipt checks and recognizing trends.
• Submit documentation in the case management system for all incidents following AP policy.
