Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to help protect guests, team members and assets at our Santa Ana store. You will engage with guests, resolve issues, and support loss prevention efforts while maintaining a safe shopping environment.

Ideal candidates are 18+, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and can work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Training is provided to build security and de-escalation skills in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Work both independently and with a team
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by greeting guests and helping them find what they need
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you
• Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude
• Promote a safe, secure store environment and follow AP policies
• Document incidents accurately in the case management system
• Use Target's video surveillance system as required
• Respond to security incidents promptly and de-escalate when needed
• Perform merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft and communicate trends
