Job summary

Target in Santa Fe, NM is seeking a Security Specialist to help protect guests, team members and merchandise while delivering a friendly shopping experience. You will use de-escalation skills, document incidents, monitor store operations with scanners and video systems, and collaborate with store leaders to maintain a safe environment.

Flexible schedule including nights and weekends may be required. Candidates must be 18+, HS diploma, able to lift up to 40 pounds, and pass licensure

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments: greet guests and assist with finding items or resolving issues.
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you and assist peers as needed.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards store-wide.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Leverage de-escalation tactics and resources when responding to security incidents.
• Conduct theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support; adhere to AP policies.
• Submit documentation in the case management system for incidents.
• Understand and use Target's video surveillance system.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner; report hazards and follow safety policies.
