Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and the brand. You will use intelligence-led tactics, respond to crises, and document cases using the company system to ensure store safety and smooth operations.

The role involves de-escalation, physical security controls, and interaction with store leadership. Flexibility for varying shifts, including nights and weekends, is required, with comprehensive training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other tech.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work independently and with a team.
• Capable of remaining focused in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create a friendly guest experience by greeting and assisting guests.
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest interaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support team efforts and assist peers while staying positive and respectful.
• Maintain safe and secure standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
• Document security incidents promptly in the case management system.
• Use Target's video surveillance system effectively.
• Respond to security incidents with de-escalation when appropriate.
