The Security Shift Manager is responsible for the overall management of the shift and personnel, providing security and a safe environment while ensuring the protection of guests, team members, and Live! assets.

Responsibilities

Where You'll Make an Impact:

  1. Manage programs, processes, and procedures to ensure the protection of Maryland Live assets, including the safety and security of guests and team members.
  2. Manage programs and processes to reduce and control loss time injuries.
  3. Communicate and implement department procedures in accordance with the director and internal controls.
  4. Assist in the development and implementation of Security Department training.
  5. Investigate incidents and/or guest complaints, compiling data for accurate reports to the Gaming Commission and department heads.
  6. Complete and investigate first reports on injuries.
  7. Provide input and assist with the preparation of performance reviews of supervisors and officers.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in security or law enforcement.
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in a casino environment.
  • Four (4) years of degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work in an environment with alcohol and smoking.
  • Must be able to secure and maintain licensure as required by the Virginia Gaming Control Board or other applicable regulatory entity.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability and energy to move around the large resort with a sense of urgency.
  • Be alert at all times.
  • Dexterity for daily activities and emergencies.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ascend and descend stairs.
  • Work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, running, stooping, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to ride a bicycle and operate vehicles like Segways or golf carts.
