Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Service Technician to troubleshoot and service security systems in the downtown area. You will repair or replace burglar, fire, CCTV and access systems and coordinate inspections, delivering high levels of service to customers.

You will work with tools from a remote setup, prepare trouble orders, and provide quotes to support recommended solutions to keep facilities efficient and secure.

Qualifications

• Must have 3–4 years’ experience installing and inspecting/repairing security or similar product lines.
• Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras is required.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Electrical/electronic background is required.
• Valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and service commercial security, fire alarm, CCTV and access systems.
• Repair or replace faulty equipment and coordinate inspections with authorities as needed.
• Provide solutions and upsell opportunities to improve facility efficiency.
• Prepare quotes and documentation for service recommendations.

Job description

The selected candidate will primarily work in the downtown area.

What you will do

A Johnson Controls Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert. You will alleviate concerns the customer may have regarding a security system. You will advise customers and the customer care center of the status of systems and processes inspections. You will repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, Card Access systems and other security equipment. This Technician will be set up with all of the tools and equipment needed to work independently from a remote location. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service

How you will do it

As a Commercial Service Technician, you will locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring; readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation; prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs. You will also coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies. Service Technicians will be responsible for the service and repair Commercial security/Fire Alarm/CCTV/Card Access systems. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience installing and inspecting/repairing Security or comparable product line.
• Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras
• Excellent communication skills.
• Electrical/Electronic background.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• Fire alarm experience preferred.
• Some college preferred.
• NICET II or greater preferred.

Pay Range: $40.09 hourly ratedeterminedby the CBA/rate sheet. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
