Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Service Technician to troubleshoot and service security systems at customer sites.

You will repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV and Card Access equipment while coordinating with authorities and the customer care center. You will work independently from a remote location with the necessary tools and provide effective solutions to improve building efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience installing and inspecting/servicing Tyco Integrated Security or comparable product line.
• Experience with Card Access, CCTV, and IP cameras.
• Electrical/Electronic background with field service experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and service security systems to resolve customer issues.
• Repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, Card Access systems and related equipment.
• Coordinate inspections and installations with police, fire departments, or other agencies; prepare service reports.
• Provide quotes and recommended solutions to improve facility efficiency.

What you will do

A Johnson Controls Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert. You will alleviate concerns the customer may have regarding a security system. You will advise customers and the customer care center of the status of systems and processes inspections. You will repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, Card Access systems and other security equipment. This Technician will be set up with all of the tools and equipment needed to work independently from a remote location. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

How you will do it

As a Commercial Service Technician you will locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring; readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation; prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs. You will also coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies. Service Technicians will be responsible for the service and repair Commercial security/Fire Alarm/CCTV/Card Access systems. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

• Minimum 3 years’ experience installing and inspecting/servicing Tyco Integrated Security or comparable product line.
• Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras
• Excellent communication skills.
• Electrical/Electronic background.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

• Some college or technical school preferred.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $21‑30 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
