Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Service Technician in Appleton, WI to troubleshoot and service security systems, including burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, and card access. You will communicate status updates to customers and coordinate inspections with authorities while working with a full toolkit.

You will operate independently from a remote location, provide effective solutions at time of service, and upsell where appropriate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-4 years’ experience installing and inspecting/repairing fire or burglar alarms.
• Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

This position will be based in Appleton, WI

What you will do

A Johnson Controls Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert. You will alleviate concerns the customer may have regarding a security system. You will advise customers and the customer care center of the status of systems and processes inspections. You will repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, Card Access systems and other security equipment. This Technician will be set up with all of the tools and equipment needed to work independently from a remote location. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

How you will do it

As a Commercial Service Technician, you will locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring; readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation; prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs. You will also coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies. Service Technicians will be responsible for the service and repair Commercial security/Fire Alarm/CCTV/Card Access systems. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience installing and inspecting/repairing fire or burglar alarms.
• Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras
• Excellent communication skills.
• Electrical/Electronic background.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• Fire alarm experience preferred.
• Networking experience
• NICET II or greater preferred.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $23.07 - $31.73 per hour. The position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
