Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Service Technician to diagnose, repair and optimize security systems for customers. This role involves servicing burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV and card access systems, often from a remote setup and coordinating with authorities when needed.

The position requires several years of hands-on installation and maintenance experience with security products, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills. A competitive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Required: 3–4 years installing and inspecting/repairing Tyco Integrated Security or comparable systems.
• Experience with Card Access, CCTV and IP cameras.
• Excellent communication skills and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and service security systems for customers.
• Repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, and Card Access systems.
• Coordinate inspections with police, fire departments and other agencies.

What You Will Do

A Johnson Controls Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert. You will alleviate concerns the customer may have regarding a security system. You will advise customers and the customer care center of the status of systems and processes inspections. You will repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, Card Access systems and other security equipment. This Technician will be set up with all of the tools and equipment needed to work independently from a remote location. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service

How You Will Do It

As a Commercial Service Technician, you will locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring; readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation; prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs. You will also coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies. Service Technicians will be responsible for the service and repair Commercial security/Fire Alarm/CCTV/Card Access systems. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Required

What we look for

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience installing and inspecting/repairing Tyco Integrated Security or comparable product line.
• Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras
• Excellent communication skills.
• Electrical/Electronic background.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• Fire alarm experience preferred.
• Some college preferred.
• NICET II or greater preferred.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26.06 - 35.82 Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
