Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Security Safety Professional to join the Environment, Safety, Health & Quality (ESHQ) team in Idaho Falls. The role focuses on hazard identification, safety program development, and regulatory compliance while supporting Security Operations on a 4x10 schedule with Fridays off.

Ideal candidates will have a BS in a technical field with 2 years of experience or a MS with relevant experience, including firearms training and SWAT/SRT familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a relevant technical field with 2 years of related professional experience or a Master’s degree; Level 3 requires more experience.
• In lieu of degree, extensive firearms/SWAT/SRT experience counts toward qualification.

Responsibilities

• Apply firearms and advanced weapon systems knowledge to support Security Operations.
• Identify and control hazards; develop and implement health and safety programs.
• Conduct workplace safety assessments and recommend improvements.
• Provide safety support and peer review across Laboratory teams and external organizations.
• Conduct accident investigations and guide hazard mitigation using ISMS.
• Review work control documents and site plans; support risk prioritization.
