Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls is seeking a Nuclear Safety Analyst to join our Facility Safety Engineering team. You will manage DSAs and TSRs, perform hazard analyses, and ensure compliance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B, collaborating with operations, researchers, engineers, and project managers to develop practical safety solutions.

This role follows a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off, and requires DOE Q clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience developing technical safety documentation and performing hazard or accident analyses.
• Familiarity with DOE nuclear safety requirements (10 CFR 830, DOE-STD-3009) and/or NRC regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" clearance (US Citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of Nuclear Safety Program and ensure compliance with 10 CFR 830 and applicable DOE standards.
• Develop, revise, and maintain DSAs and TSRs for facilities and modifications.
• Perform hazard identification, accident analyses, facility categorization, and safety system classification.
• Derive DSA commitments and TSR controls from analyses to prevent or mitigate releases.
• Execute the USQ process and develop interim controls and corrective actions.
• Review operating procedures and events to support facility operations.
• Manage safety-basis projects, track progress, and ensure schedule commitments.
• Develop practical safety controls for operations and provide peer reviews of safety documentation.
