Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring an Unarmed Security Officer in Ashburn, VA. The role involves patrolling facilities, monitoring entrances, and responding to incidents to keep students, staff, and visitors safe.

You will document events and work with school personnel to maintain a secure environment. The position is full-time with a consistent day schedule; prior security or customer service experience is preferred, and a guard card/license may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and vendors per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other emergencies in a calm, professional manner.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or policy violations, and direct visitors as required.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and communicate observations to school personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established school district procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or policy violations, and assist with directing visitors in accordance with site requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and communicate observations, concerns, and/or emergency information to appropriate school personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
