Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Patrol Officer in Ashburn, VA, to provide visible security presence and friendly customer service to students, staff, and visitors. You will perform routine patrols, monitor entrances, respond to incidents, and support campus safety procedures while upholding our standards of reliability and integrity.

The role is full-time, with a daytime schedule and a pay rate of $18.87 per hour.

Qualifications

• Guard card or license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements as per state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors and families by following site procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds and perimeters and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with school personnel or emergency responders as needed.
• Assist with access control, visitor management and campus activities to deter unauthorized activity.

• Mon: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Tue: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Wed: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Thur: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Fri: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas, reporting unusual conditions or concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate school personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Assist with access control, visitor management, traffic flow, and campus activities while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
